MAKE SURE YOU GET FROM CONTRACT TO CLOSE

Here are the key parts of a transaction to make sure you track and complete each part.

Earnest Deposit

This is your down payment on the house. It's still your money! It shows your commitment and zeal to buy.

Keep Your Credit

Your mortgage isn't locked in! Don't buy anything big on credit - furniture, car loans etc - can endanger your final loan approval.

Inspections

You should have a professional evaluate the home. Have the seller fix as many major items as possible.

Appraisal

The lender will send a professional to asses the value of the home. Depending on your financing, this can be an important contingency to the sale.

Cash to Close

Make sure you have the cash required to close. Title will send a settlement statement with the amount. Make sure you wire funds early, or get a cashier's check.

Walk Through

A good agent will ensure the sellers are reminded to leave everything as discussed in purchase agreement. Walk through the house before closing to make sure.
